We're excited to announce on our first post that Congressman Chet Edwards provided us a ticket for the swearing-in ceremony. This means one of us will report from Capitol Hill, and the rest will spread out around Pennsylvania Avenue and the National Mall to cover the parade and ceremony. We know there were 10 requests for every one ticket available, so we're very thankful for Edwards' help.
We have several story ideas and multimedia projects planned for inauguration week. The blog will really pick up once we leave on Jan. 18, so check for updates throughout the day, every day.

The Reporters
Anita Pere, 21, is the Editor in Chief of The Lariat. A junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., Anita is majoring in journalism with a minor in film and digital media. This is her fourth semester on staff with The Lariat, where she worked as a staff writer for the first two.
Sommer Ingram, 19, is a fourth-semester staff writer for The Lariat. She is a sophomore majoring in political science with minors in journalism and business and is from Texarkana, Texas.
Ashley Killough, 22, also is a staff writer for The Lariat. She is a senior from Plano, Texas, with a double major in international studies and journalism. This is her third semester reporting for The Lariat.
Jordan Wilson, 19, is a staff photographer for the Baylor’s yearbook, The Baylor Round Up. He is a sophomore majoring in film and digital media with a minor in journalism. While he’s lived in Anchorage, Seattle and Denver, Jordan currently lives in Conway, Ark., when not attending Baylor.
